Second Street Fund was never just about buildings; it’s always been about people. Since 1954, we’ve helped tens of thousands of residents feel at home and empowered generations of teams to grow their careers in real estate. What began as Maclab Enterprises O/A Midwest Property Managment in Edmonton has evolved into a cross-border, multi-generational real estate company with operations in Canada and the United States.
Today, Second Street Fund is the natural evolution of that legacy, bringing our values forward and expanding our vision across borders and generations.
Our Foundation
Maclab was founded on a simple idea – do the right thing and do it well. That philosophy carried us through decades of growth across Alberta and Western Canada, and it still guides us today.
How We Started
In post-war Alberta, our founders saw a need for thoughtfully built housing and made it their mission to serve that need with care and integrity. Over the decades, Maclab became a trusted name in Canadian real estate, quietly developing a reputation for operational excellence, responsive property management, and values-based leadership.
