Springtime means we’re seeing more hours of daylight, and with all that bright, shining sun, it’s glaringly obvious when your floors need some attention. Thankfully, laminate flooring is durable and quite easy to clean. Here are some tips to help you keep your laminate gleaming.
First of all, keep it simple. There is no need to stock up on different cleaning products for each specific job. Hot water and a little scrubbing are usually all it takes to get things shining again.
General Cleaning: Sweep laminate with a non-bristle broom to avoid scratches to the surface. For mopping, the trick is to use hot water and dry the flooring immediately after. This way, you avoid leaving streaks or removing the protective coating.
Grease Spots: Simply freeze the grease spot with an ice pack or some frozen food. Once solidified, use a plastic knife in a sawing motion to scrape the grease off. Lastly, use a cloth and hot water to remove any remaining grease.
This method also works for gum.
Heel Marks and Scuffs: Use a white eraser and literally erase the mark/scuff right off!
